Import an existing customer list
Bring your contacts over via CSV, and if you want the stamps or points of the old card too.

Already have a customer list? Import it from Customers → Import so you do not start from zero.
- Open Customers and click Import.
- Choose your CSV file.
- Fidz recognises common column names: phone (mobile, telephone), e-mail, first_name, last_name and birthday (written YYYY-MM-DD). The file needs a phone column or an e-mail column.
- Customers already on your list (same phone number or e-mail address) are skipped.
- You get a summary: imported, skipped as duplicates, invalid, and the balances taken over.
- Limits: up to 10,000 rows per import and 5 MB per file.
- Imported contacts are marked as not wanting e-mails until they opt in, to keep you compliant.
- Imported customers get their Wallet card the first time they sign up with your poster or link; they are recognised by their e-mail address, confirmed with a code sent by e-mail.
Carrying over the stamps or points of the old card: add a column called Stamps, Points or Balance (Tampons or Solde in French) with a whole number per customer. They are stamps or points according to your own card. A Visits column is not read: it is a total since the beginning, not a balance. Nothing is credited at import and no card is created: the balance waits for the customer.
- Customer with an e-mail address in the file: when they sign up with that address (confirmed with a code), they find their balance on their new card, and their sign-up stamp is added on top like for any customer (7 stamps carried over make 8, up to the reward limit). Once only: a card that is already open gets nothing more.
- Customer with only a phone number in the file: at sign-up, an optional question "Were you already a customer?" asks for their number. A number proves nothing, so nothing is credited right away. At the counter, on the Stamp screen, the team sees "Balance taken over from the old card: 7 stamps (imported file, Inès M.)" and taps Validate or Refuse. Validate credits the balance, on top of the sign-up stamp already received, and merges the old record into the new one, with no duplicate. Refuse changes nothing.
- An invalid balance (negative, with decimals, text) is ignored and counted in the summary. On a stamp card, a balance above the reward threshold is brought down to that threshold: the customer already has their reward. On a points card the maximum is 100,000.
- A customer already on your list keeps their current record and balance: the balance in the file is not taken over.
To go the other way, use Export (see the export article).
Because imported contacts are marked as not wanting e-mails, do not send them an e-mail blast right away. Let them opt in first.
At the counter, only validate a balance if you recognise the person: anyone can type somebody else's number. The customer never learns whether a record exists with that number.
