An example rule : 10 ice creams = 1 free

Ready in three steps

  1. You pick this model and put it in your colours.
  2. Your customers scan the QR code: the card lands in their Wallet.
  3. One visit, one stamp. At the reward, the screen lights up.

Zoé treats herself at Glaces Colette as soon as the sun is out: the 10th is free.

Photo stamps for your ice-cream parlour, or your own picture.

The first warm afternoon of the year, a queue down the pavement, and children pointing at flavours with sticky fingers. A digital loyalty card for an ice-cream parlour counts every cone in the phone wallet of the parent holding the other hand, so no paper card ends up melted at the bottom of a bag.

The customer scans a QR code at the counter once, types a first name and a phone number, and the card goes into Apple Wallet or Google Wallet. Your team scans it with each cone. On the tenth, the next scoop is free.

Why a paper card falls short in this trade

Sticky fingers and paper do not mix

A paper card in a pocket with an ice cream in the other hand ends up creased, wet or lost on the pavement. The stamp smudges on a damp card, and the customer gives up before the tenth cone.

The queue grows when the sun is out

On a hot afternoon every second counts, and nobody wants to wait while a card is found and stamped. Your team skips the stamp, and the customer who comes every week feels cheated.

A family buys four cones at once

Who gets the stamp: one for the order, or four? Without a limit, the answer changes with whoever is serving, and the family notices. A paper card cannot apply the same rule every time.

Your regulars disappear in autumn

The family that came every Sunday in July is not in your shop in October, and you have no way of telling them the new flavours are out. A paper card gives you no way to reach them after the summer.

At the counter, in practice

The QR poster is on the counter glass or the freezer, at child height as well as adult height, since the whole family waits there. A parent scans it with the camera, types a first name and a phone number, and the card lands in the Wallet while the cone is being made. Whoever serves scans the card with a phone once the scoops are on the cone. The screen lights up with the new stamp. On the tenth, the card says the next is free.

Reward and win-back ideas

Ten cones, the next is free

One stamp per cone, shown as a scoop on the card. Children understand it at once: nine and then a free one. It runs on the Solo plan at €19 per month, and stamps can be capped per scan.

A message on the first hot day

When the sun is out, send a push notification to everyone with the card, perhaps for a new flavour. The Growth plan at €39 per month includes 10 broadcasts per month, so save them for the best days.

A Google review after the free cone

A customer collecting a free scoop, with a smile, is the best moment to ask for a review. The card sends the invitation by itself. It is part of the Growth plan.

A gift to collect before the season ends

Growth lets you give a gift with an end date, such as a free scoop to claim before you close for the year. The deadline brings people in during the last weeks, when the weather is turning.

A reminder when spring returns

Customers who stopped coming over winter can receive a friendly message when the parlour opens again. This is the win-back automation of the Growth plan, and it reaches people who already know you.

Questions shop owners ask

The plan has no commitment and you can cancel at any time, so you decide whether it is worth keeping when you are closed. The first 14 days are free, with nothing charged if you cancel before day 14. Check what you want to do with your cards over winter.

They will not collect ten stamps, and nobody can tell you otherwise. The card is for neighbours and families who come back through the summer. For the others, it costs nothing to ignore. There is no fee per customer.

The parent, with her phone and her card. A child without a phone cannot hold one. In a family, one parent usually collects for everyone, and you can cap the stamps per scan so a group order does not fill the card.

It is one scan with a phone your team already has, with nothing to plug in. A delay between scans stops a double scan. If the queue is too long, your team can skip a scan, and the customer simply misses that stamp.

Your regulars deserve better than a lost card.
