Hugo gets his haircut at Maison Vasseur: on the 6th cut, the next one is half price.
Photo stamps for your barber, or your own picture.
The chair is full, the clippers are running, and the man waiting has been coming to you every few weeks for years. A digital loyalty card for a barber shop counts each cut in his phone wallet, so the sixth one gives him a reduction on the next, and nobody carries anything.
He scans a QR code on your mirror or counter once, types a first name and a phone number, and the card sits in Apple Wallet or Google Wallet. After the cut, you scan it with your phone. The reward is whatever you decide, for example half price on the next.
Why a paper card falls short in this trade
A card that stays in the wallet
A paper card ends up behind the bank cards, creased and half stamped, and he forgets it every time he sits down. The cut does not count, and he feels it. That is how you lose a regular’s goodwill.
Cuts are weeks apart
A customer who comes every four or five weeks needs a card he can keep for months. Paper does not last that long in a pocket. A card in the phone wallet is still there when the sixth cut arrives.
Hands busy, no time to stamp
With a comb in one hand and the clippers in the other, hunting for the stamp is the last thing you want. If you forget, he remembers, and the awkward conversation about the missing stamp begins.
You cannot tell who is leaving
A regular who goes to the new shop on the corner does not announce it. With paper, you notice three months later that his chair has been empty. By then he is someone else’s customer.
At the counter, in practice
The QR code is stuck beside the mirror at the till, on a small A4 poster. A new customer scans it from the chair or while paying, gives a first name and a phone number, and the card lands in his Wallet. At the end of each cut, you scan the card with the phone you already have in your pocket. The screen of his phone lights up with the new count. On the sixth cut, the card tells him the next one is half price.
Reward and win-back ideas
Six cuts, the next at half price
A simple rule that suits a habit: one stamp per cut, and the sixth gives a reduction on the next. It runs on the Solo plan at €19 per month, with up to three people in your team.
A reminder when he stops coming
If a regular has not booked in a while, the card sends a friendly message. It is a win-back automation, available on the Growth plan at €39 per month, and it works while you are cutting hair.
A treat on his birthday
A message on the birthday offering a small thing, such as a beard trim included, gives you a reason to speak to him that is not a sales pitch. The birthday message is part of the Growth plan.
A Google review after the reward
A customer who has just got half price on a cut will say yes to a review. The card can ask at that moment, so you do not have to ask while holding the scissors. Growth plan.
A friend’s first cut
Referral lets a customer bring a friend and both get something. A new customer arrives with a friend’s recommendation, and the regular has a reason to talk about you. This is also a Growth plan feature.
Questions shop owners ask
No. Fidz handles the loyalty card only, not bookings. It works next to any booking system or none at all, with nothing to connect. You scan the card after the cut as you would hand over a stamp.
There is no app to download. The card goes into the Wallet that is already on the phone, after a scan and two taps. The limit is the same as elsewhere: a customer without a compatible smartphone cannot have one.
Anyone on the team can scan with their own phone, and the history shows who did what. The Solo plan allows up to three people in your team. With more than three, you need the Growth plan, which has an unlimited team.
Yes, the reward is yours to write. You can ask for eight cuts rather than six, or offer a beard trim instead of a discount. You can change the card later, and the dashboard shows how many rewards you have given.
