Best practices for getting more Google reviews

When the automation fires, who it targets, and how to write the prompt.

  • Target customers with 3+ visits — they're already loyal, so they convert to 5-star reviews far more often.
  • Send between noon and 6 PM — people on lunch breaks or after work are most likely to leave reviews.
  • Keep the message short. "How was your visit? ⭐" beats "Dear Sarah, would you mind taking a moment to leave us a Google review?"
  • Don't bribe for reviews — Google bans listings that incentivise reviews. "Free coffee for a review" can get you delisted.

Consistency matters more than any single push — a steady trickle of genuine 5-star reviews from your most loyal customers compounds over time and lifts you in local search.
