When your automatic messages go out

Sending times, and the rules that stop a customer getting the same message twice.

Updated October 12, 2026 · 3 min

Automatic messages do not leave at the same hour for everyone: every 15 minutes, Fidz checks, shop by shop, whether it is inside the right window on its own clock (the time zone of your address, in Business → Locations). So a customer does not get a message in the middle of the night.

Sending times (your shop's time)

  • Birthday, win-back of inactive customers and almost-there nudge: from 9:30 am, until about noon.
  • Welcome and Google review request: during the day, between 8 am and 9 pm. The welcome goes out shortly after the card is added to the Wallet; the review request once the delay you set has passed (1 hour by default). A message that is ready at night waits for 8 am.
  • Gift expiry reminder: once a day, in the evening.
  • For you, the weekly report: on Monday, from 8 am.
  • For you, the monthly report (early in the month) and reminders such as trial or data-deletion ones: from 9:30 am.

Never twice

  • Welcome: once per customer.
  • Google review: at most one request every 30 days per customer. A request that could not go out within 3 days is dropped.
  • Win-back: one message per absence. The customer is only chased again after coming back, then leaving again. Bonus points are only given once per absence.
  • Birthday: once a year. A missed send is caught up within 3 days, with no duplicate and no second bonus.
  • Almost-there nudge: no new nudge for the same customer within 14 days.
  • Gift: one reminder per gift.

A customer whose card is not in the Wallet does not get Wallet messages (welcome, almost-there, review, gift). Birthday and win-back can also go by e-mail, only if they agreed to receive your e-mails.

If a message did not go out at the planned time, a daily catch-up run picks it up. Thanks to the rules above, a customer never gets the same message twice because of it.
